[Post Game Thread] The Philadelphia 76ers (30-17) defeat the Los Angeles Lakers (36-10), 108-91.
lakers should be fine in the playoffs as long as they dont play any teams that have a good wing player
[–]Bucks ExistingNail 28
James Harden's ears perk up
[–]Lakers HaughtyRangers 75
I’ve been downvoted again and again saying that the clippers have 2 of the best wing players. We are fucked against them.
[–]NBA urfaselol 28
Tuesday will tell us a lot. It's the clippers without PG again. If the Lakers lose that game. Whew
[–]NBA WakandaFist 20
Clips already proved they can beat them even without George
[–]Lakers mmm1010 91
Lakers getting dominated by teams with length
Celtics, raptors, bucks and now Philly
All eastern teams so not much of a worry in playoffs but do need to make moves this trade period to win a ring
Don't forget Kawhi's length
Nah but for real big part of why Lakers are losing these because all of them have a capable LeBron defender. Simmons, Giannis, Kawhi, Siakam, Tatum (?)
[–]Celtics lewlkewl 28
The problem isn't that they have a capable lebron defender, it's that the lakers don't have a capable (all those you guys mentioned) defender. ANd each of those teams have multiple of those guys.
[–]Rager_YMN_6 13 指標 4小時前
It's not even just the lack of a wing, but Vogel's lack of adjustments. Playing Rondo, AB and Dwight with LeBron is inexcusable. No spacing whatsoever
His dependence on iso ball is also killing us. Vogel has only been valuable to our team chemistry defense, everything else he's been objectively bad at.
[–][PHI] Joel Embiid l ardbiscuits 29
They literally are a two man offense. I can't believe they've won so many games. Must be nice actually being able to beat terrible teams, unlike my Sixers.
[–]NBA urfaselol 121
Tobias Simmons and thybulle absolutely dominated
Thybulle is a stud on defense wish Pels had a player like that
Still can’t believe the Celtics gave thybulle to the sixers
Big Al closed it out though. Didn’t look washed tonight
[–]Bucks A2Eaton 47
For real I feel like no one is mentioning this, he single handedly decided the game was over.
[–]Thunder lethalizer 11
He's been doing that a lot lately. Happened in the Brooklyn game as well.
Without Embiid to clog the lane, big Al just naturally shines. He's a baller.
[–]Lakers Otharp 216
Danny got murdered both in defense and offense all night. His shooting really struggled and he can't defend Simmons at all.
[–]Trail Blazers sloBrodanChillosevic 40
Very few players can defend Ben Simmons. Dude shot 80% tonight, largely at the rim against a DPOY candidate in AD. He's legit becoming a superstar while Embiid is out
Danny shouldn't be defending Ben in the first place.
[–]Raging_Professor 60 指標 4小時前
Maybe LeBron should've defended Ben. It seems like he is trying to stay away from him
[–][PHI] Robert Covington sjekky 47
It's not worth forcing him to play those tough minutes in January. He's already playing a lot of minutes and carrying a big offensive load5
[–][NYK] Carmelo Anthony burnedgoat 141
Good night for underappreciated stars. First Gobert, now Ben with the masterclass against elite opposition
[–]Warriors Balls_of_Adamanthium 166 指標 4小時前*
Simmons is fucking monster.
Ben Simmons heard y’all talking shit
I have been watching a lot of the 76er's and man Simmons is such a fun player to watch. Becoming a fan.
[–][PHI] T.J. McConnell SamTheSidekick 132
hopefully now the nephews have actually watched ben play
[–]Trail Blazers sloBrodanChillosevic 45
Imagine thinking he needs to change up his play style
[–]Warriors Balls_of_Adamanthium 44 指標 4小時前
I don't think he needs to change up his style. Just add maybe a 13 footer to his game. His lack of shooting could be exploited during the playoffs as we saw with Giannis last year.
He’s added some kind of hook shot to his game that works decently
[–]Warriors Balls_of_Adamanthium 14 指標 4小時前
That shot is sexy as fuck
Ben Simmons is a superstar
[–]Trail Blazers sloBrodanChillosevic 129
He and Thybulle shut the Lakers down. 10 steals between them and they fucking iced LA down the stretch.
[–]Lakers kekishbassoon 122
matisse thybulle is a fucking dog
[–]NBA urfaselol 26
Matisse Thybulle is a baby Kawhi. Scary how good of a defender and shooter he is as a rookie
[–]Trail Blazers sloBrodanChillosevic 56
He and Simmons locking down a backcourt entirely is gonna win them a series this year
[–]sebas_1237 62 指標 4小時前
And Tobias quietly dropping 29 pts
[–]76ers Hallowed_Be_Thy_Game 21 指標 4小時前
People shit on him for his contract but he has been fantastic for us. He just had a tough time when playing through the flu
The 76ers are now 21-2 at home and are 9-15 on the road
Petition to play the entire season at home
The 76ers are gonna be a super dangerous 5/6th seed
[–]76ers clingbat 13
So now we've embarrassed the Bucks and Lakers on national TV (missing two starters tonight...) but we can't beat teams like the Magic lol. This team is so weird.
We're getting spanked by Golden State on Wednesday aren't we
[–][PHI] Toni Kukoc NeonParticles 22
This is the way
17 point win missing joel embiid and josh richardson lmao
We beat the fuck out of them while starting fucking Shake Milton lmao
[–][PHI] Joel Embiid UncleDrewDogger 14
Shake played surprisingly well tonight, did exactly what he was asked
[–]Lakers funcle22 21
Even the Bald Mamba couldn’t save us, GG 6ers
LeBron's 3rd all time leading scorer in NBA history party was ruined by the hands of Ben Simmons and Danny Green
LeBron is so calculated that Kobe's hometown (Philadelphia) is when he passes Kobe in scoring.
Pretty great to see our fans all give him a standing ovation.
[–]Clemario 261
In Kobe’s hometown, playing for Kobe’s team
[–]Lakers MMDroxy 81
We are all witness. Glad he did while wearing a Laker uniform!
[–][DAL] Wang Zhizhi suzukigun4life 491
LeBron fans got to see their guy pass Kobe on the all-time scoring list.
LeBron haters got to see his team lose by double figures on primetime.
Win-win for both sides
[–][LAL] Marcelo Huertas henstobs11 40
7 players not named LeBron or AD scored 29 points on 35 shots
[–]Bulls celsius_two_3_two 11 指標 5小時前
Sixers at home is really something else. Like, Ben becomes prime LeBron, and everyone else becomes Klay.
Also, Kuz is so ass.
[–]Heat Saltmore1 13
Kuzma is a dud. He just can't score against good defensive teams at all.
As a bron hater and philly fan, I am extra erect tonight.
[–][TOR] Fred VanVleet Smugleaf_Raptors2012 29
I, like the rest of the east, needed the Lakers win tho ffs
[–][BOS] Jayson Tatum TantalizingBanana 25
Nah when the Lakers lose its a win for everyone
[–][TOR] OG Anunoby RendHeaven 37
Not me. Congrats Sixers bros.
[–]Raptors BeADragonQueen 19
Same i know philly and raptors have their rivalry but was low key rooting was philly, great job, Simmons was elite af
Ben is the DPOTY. You can’t convince me otherwise
[–]76ers Yazakuchi 32
Public has already made up their mind about DPOTY with AD, its a narrative based award, if Ben was on the Lakers and AD on the Sixers then Ben would be the favorite
[–]76ers joatmos 18
Caruso was the best defensive player for the Lakers tonight. AD’s defense wasn’t noticeable in this game.
That’s officially 5 losses against 5 of the top 6 teams in the East
bUt bUt bUt tHe wEsT is BeTtEr
[–]Cavaliers StKd0t 7
Fake #1 seed
East teams might wanna start rooting for the Lakers to come out of the West
Lakers defence has gone horrible in the past few weeks. What happened? Clippers going to smack them next
[–]Lakers NotClayMerritt 4
I think it's pretty clear what our weaknesses are. They've continued to keep coming up over and over again in our 10 losses. This may just be an inherent flaw in this team that not necessarily fixable because there's nobody that this team could trade for or sign in the buyout market that would fix this issue.
Also, it's time to trade Kyle Kuzma if we can get someone who can play consistently.
The top 7 defenses in the NBA are: Bucks Raptors 76ers Lakers Celtics Magic Clippers. The Lakers have lost to all of these teams and only beat the Magic.
idk what lebron was doing at the end, i understand your threes weren't going, but if youre running those pnrs to get a small on you, and ben goes waaaay under, you have to shoot that. otherwise it makes no sense and you should just run your regular offense
Lakers had momentum until he was put back in the game in the final minutes. I know it's stupid to say they shouldn't have put him in, because you always put him in and live with the results, but he took a stupid three, down 5 with a few mins left. A 2pt basket would've possibly been enough to allow the Lakers to go for the kill. I never really understand why he likes his (stepback) threes in crunch-time moments like these when the guy is built like a tank. A make obviously knocks the air out of the 6ers, but the difference between 2 and 3 pts is less than the difference between 5 and 7 points. A miss there and a make by the 6ers knocks the wind out of the Lakers, especially with under 3 mins left. Make the 2pt shot, and play defense.
[–]Lakers bengalsfu 182
Kareem is in reach
3 more seasons. Just has to average 25 and play at least 75 games per season.
That’s so crazy to think about. I think if LeBron doesn’t beat Kareem we’ll never see it happen
Tbh I thought KD would eventually eclipse it since his shooting is so insane. But not having an entire season will destroy that shot sadly.
I disagree actually, unless the regular season gets shortened the amount of threes being made by superstars today and in the future will make it easier for them than for Lebron.
[–]Nets Bigbadbuck 26
Players play way less today tho. Lebron averages 39 mins a game for his career. Nobody is ever gonna average that many mins again. Players also rarely play 78 + anymore
[–][LAL] Alex Caruso SDas_ 46
A player would still have to average over 30+ consistently for 16+ seasons and play 75+ games. It's unlikely.
[–]Nets Bigbadbuck 57
It's insane that the only guys he has left are Kareem and Malone. Like I've been following his journey his whole career and we've always thought he'd have a shot at Kareems record and the mad man is actually doing it. Lebron is a living legend playing the game at an mvp level still we have to appreciate it while it last because it's gonna be gone soon.
[–]Raptors PickAndTroll 34
When tho? Man's 35, 17 seasons in, and is still at worst a top 3 player in the league. This dude fucks with my understanding of aging.
[–]Nets Bigbadbuck 17
there was a time when calling lebron a top 3 player would've been disrespectful. The guy was that far ahead of everybody. Hes still that good but hes clearly aged a bit, and he'll prolly slowly decline over the next few years.
But even if he declines over the next few years, where does that put him? Still an all-star two seasons from now? Still top 50 3-4 years from now? This man could average 15/5/5 for another six years at least if he wanted to, which is still damn near a max contract in today's NBA.
