[Charania] Kemba Walker: I haven't wrapped my mind around contending at this high level. I've been with the Hornets for eight years, and maybe one time we had some expectations. Maybe just one season; seven-, six-seed or something. This year, there will be expectations. I've never had this feeling
[–][CHA] Robert Parish FoulBachelorFrogIRL 26 points 22 hours ago
He's just articulating all the shit we've been saying for years, which he was too polite/professional to ever say while still with us. This hurts.
[–][LAL] Kyle Kuzma ablackcloudupahead 91 points 21 hours ago
Kemba seems like such a nice dude
[–]Hornets blue-dream 72 points 18 hours ago
He was willing to take less than he's worth for the worst franchise in the league.
[–]captyossarian1991 35 points 21 hours ago
We wasted Kemba. I’m so glad we had him while he did. He made Hornet Basketball occasionally fun to watch.
[–]Hogo-Nano 15 points 22 hours ago
I think he will do a little bit better than Kyrie did shooting wise in the playoffs.
[–]Celtics HideYourCarry 17 points 18 hours ago
Hey man, calm down. There’s no way Kyrie shoots 8/22 again.
[–]Trail Blazers MDFrisbee 626 points 23 hours ago
I wish him all the best. There’s room in the east now that the Raptors have lost Kawhi. It’ll take a lot from them but it could happen.
[–]Raptors MasaiGotUsNow 412 points 22 hours ago
Sixers and bucks are still a good amount better than Boston.
But both the jays can take a leap I guess.
[–]Celtics ChristopherSquawken 14 points 20 hours ago
Giannis makes the Bucks legit, Celts played Sixers well even this past season. Would be a great series but I don't think PHI is head and shoulders beyond Boston anywhere but paper.
[–]Celtics ___Guitarmadillo___ 7 points 18 hours ago
Horford going to the sixers is a big deal I think. He was our mvp defender against them
[–][BOS] Jayson Tatum MemeForce1 13 points 20 hours ago
Until KDs back the only teams I'd say are definitively better in the east than us are Milwaukee and Philly. Brooklyn, Toronto, Indiana and Boston are all pretty close to one another imo in that second tier.
Milwaukee lost Brogdon which hurts but should still be about as good as they were last year. Philly lost Jimbo but gained Al (miss you dad) and as much as Jimmy was huge for them in the playoffs I still think they're better than they were last season.
[–]76ers DelectableDollop 11 points 21 hours ago
The 2014 draft is a testament to this for both the Bucks and the Sixers
[–]Bucks iFinesseThePlug 311 points 22 hours ago
Jesus, it's still weird to read this. We've been so fucking mediocre for so long and now we're in the favorites.
[–]Cavaliers FudgingJudger 235 points 21 hours ago
Feels good, don’t it. Enjoy it while it lasts :’)
[–]Bucks snaffuu585 67 points 21 hours ago
Thank you daddy Giannis (and also Bud, but mostly Giannis).
[–]Celtics CosmoSucks 56 points 21 hours ago
Your next hurdle is gonna be enduring the relentless stream of sports reporters trying to push a star player out of a small market. ESPN's already hard at work with the Giannis to New York theories. Godspeed.
[–]Hornets ChineseDrivingSchool 5118 points 16 hours ago
Don't twist the knife anymore Kemba.
[–]Hornets BatumTss 25 points 17 hours ago
Also we were tied 3rd seed one time, but the playoffs injuries
[–]Hawks thelukus5 11 points 22 hours ago
You can thank MJ and Scary Terry for that knife
Still rooting for you guys to turn it around one day
[–]Raptors dont-YOLO-ragequit 11 points 17 hours ago
MJ deserves that. He and his GM at the time let Kemba down and if he still has this MJ mentality, he and Kupchack will do what it takes to not miss out on the next high lottery pick.
[–]Hornets Csriot 1662 points 15 hours ago
We miss you Dad
[–]Bucks iFinesseThePlug 1494 points 15 hours ago
Hey, come on now, it'll be okay. You have Terry Rozier to lift you up in these trying times.
[–]Hornets get-tilted 2077 points 15 hours ago
Please eat shit and die, thanks
[–]Supersonics elkresurgence 438 points 15 hours ago
You'll be sorry you said that if he turns out to be a baller
[–]Celtics ser_name_IV 558 points 15 hours ago
[–]Hornets Hawkince 546 points 15 hours ago
Terry Rozier wins MVP, PJ Washington ROTY, Malik Monk MIP, Miles Bridges All-NBA 1st Team, Hornets NBA champions
[–]Raptors rsma11z 116 points 16 hours ago
Are those guys NBA players?
[–]Make UhmSay 1221 points 14 hours ago
And then your mom calls you to dinner and you turn off the playstation
[–]Celtics whyenn 125 points 14 hours ago
[–]Magic Bobsagit-jesus 60 points 13 hours ago
Probably playing on rookie mode too smh
[–][MIL] Giannis Antetokounmpo mc2205 32 points 16 hours ago
Frank Kaminsky DPOY
[–]Hornets Hawkince 81 points 16 hours ago
Frank Kaminsky is on the suns...
[–]Phinvincible 28 points 16 hours ago
How you gonna be out here acting like this? Send some of that energy to Michael because he's the one who paid three trash players a shit load of money but refused to give kemba what he deserved. Maybe the fans don't deserve this, but the front office sure does.
[–]Hornets get-tilted 12 points 14 hours ago
See, that’s where you’re wrong. MJ has all of my negative energy already, I just have enough to share
[–]Grizzlies AmaAmadeus2001 33 points 14 hours ago
I agree and would add Rozier as finals MVP as well. The finals matchup between the Charlotte Hornets and the Phoenix suns will be the most legendary finals series the NBA has ever seen.
[–][ATL] Mookie Blaylock terafunker 20 points 13 hours ago
Adam Silver and ESPN have left the chat
[–]Mavericks ChampagneSyrup 21 points 16 hours ago
memes aside, is it even slightly possible Rozier has a semi-decent season? he's never gonna be worth that contract but maybe he can at least show he deserves to be a starter. or at the very least deserves to be a tank commander.
[–][HOU] Tracy McGrady AbRey21 55 points 16 hours ago
He can have like 20 PPG and 5 Assist with 4 tov and 41% from the field
Not bad, not good
[–]Spurs vektorog 43 points 22 hours ago
for a mere 19 mil a year
[–]Knicks CarmeloManning 38 points 22 hours ago
I like Terry Rozier as a PG.
But at that salary? No way
[–]Rockets MMO4life 7 points 18 hours ago
Knicks FO: hold my beer
[–]Timberwolves the___heretic 8 points 22 hours ago
And people thought we were crazy for paying Jeff Teague that much.
[–]peeled-clementine 5 points 22 hours ago
Gotta be amazing to play on highest level a get paid while having absolutely no expectations and pressure on your shoulders.
[–]Nets CamReddish 9 points 19 hours ago
You should watch the timberwolves
[–][MIN] Malik Sealy onken022 79 points 21 hours ago
Dammit, KAT is going to be saying this same thing in a few years isn’t he?
[–]Timberwolves Masterinkblot 12 points 20 hours ago
Trust the pRosas brother
[–][LAL] Brandon Ingram xElectricW 274 points 23 hours ago
Glad he’s not taking dumbass shots at Kyrie like Kanter, looking forward to seeing what Kemba is able to do with a solid team around him
[–][BOS] Jayson Tatum Tanksofnes[ ] 401 points 22 hours ago
Kanter is just a troll, he'll take shots at anybody
[–][POR] Damian Lillard grandpawillow 220 points 22 hours ago
Also any team he is currently playing for is his favorite team ever and he would die for them.. until he moves onto another one next season
[–]Knicks syllabic 28 points 21 hours ago
well what do you expect him to say
ah yeah this seems like an OK team, I'm mostly here for the paycheck though
[–][SAS] Derrick White KuyaJohnny 211 points 21 hours ago
I wonder if tony Parker had any influence on him in that regard.
Didn't he say something similar about there being no expectations in Charlotte?
[–]Kyries Thanksgiving 52 points 20 hours ago
Yeah, he did
[–]Spurs Thehelloman0 290 points 21 hours ago
It was the opposite feeling for Tony when he signed with Charlotte lol
[–][CHA] Kemba Walker SamuraiZucchini 80 points 18 hours ago
I’m laughing hysterically. Truly, I am.
[–]Spurs Thehelloman0 85 points 18 hours ago
Yeah it's funny because it's true. He literally said in an interview that he came into every season expecting to be able to win a championship. When he signed with the Hornets he said it was weird knowing they had zero chance at a ring.
[–][TOR] Morris Peterson whodthefookisthatguy 3483 points 19 hours ago
This year, there will be expectations. I've never had this feeling
My ex after she dumped me for a way hotter dude
[–]Spurs Liamcitoo 13 points 22 hours ago
Well at least your team got a ring man!
[–]Celtics Lennon__McCartney 35 points 22 hours ago
And yet, you're still here. Breathin, kickin, getting money. Keep moving forward
[–]Knicks capitalistsanta 32 points 20 hours ago
It's okay bro, my ex cheated on me on Christmas and she ended up having 2 kids, 2 obviously plastic titties, and she's alone. Sometimes Nice Guys do win
[–][ATL] Paul Millsap Jfklikeskfc 2330 points 18 hours ago
Hold your head up king, your crown is falling
[–][TOR] Morris Peterson whodthefookisthatguy 823 points 18 hours ago
Thanks, I really needed that today
[–]Mavericks lalakingmalibog 219 points 22 hours ago
What else will you need for today?
[–][PHI] T.J. McConnell lil_intro_vert_ 39 points 22 hours ago
a new girlfriend
[–]Charlotte Hornets AegonDonut 248 points 22 hours ago
[–]Hornets Diarrhea_Sandwich 81 points 20 hours ago
I hate the Hornets :(
[–]Hornets Gizmo1906 176 points 22 hours ago
Nobody said it was easy being the most disappointing franchise in the league
[–]Hornets youngoween 12 points 21 hours ago
[–]Spurs elmanutres 368 points 17 hours ago
This has been the worst summer for you guys. It's like the bully decided that picking on phoenix isn't fun anymore and now it's charlotte's turn.
[–]Hornets SonOfAdam32 3 points 16 hours ago
I’m just happy to finally be noticed
[–]Cavaliers orangechickenluv 65 points 17 hours ago
Just stay away from Cleveland. The Cavs are a completely competent organization which was in no way bailed out by having a top player of all time grow up down the street...
[–]Hornets Hark_An_Adventure 288 points 17 hours ago
I'm honestly fine with it. Kemba was a hell of an ambassador for the team in the community and gave a lot of great years to a team that management never put in a position to do anything for him.
We're reaping the consequences of that and will be irredeemable garbage for 5-6 years now. This is completely deserved.
[–]Bulls Gardetto125 19 points 17 hours ago
Not now, but I think Miles Bridges could be a solid borderline all-star one day maaaaybe. You guys got some hope. Keep yo heads up.
[–]Hornets Hark_An_Adventure 61 points 17 hours ago
At the very least, I'm gonna catch some NBA basketball on the cheap for the next few years, I ain't mad about it
[–]Celtics icedc0vfefe 24 points 17 hours ago
That's the spirit
[–][BOS] Bill Russell solarscopez 319 points 17 hours ago
For the sake of the fans, I don't think any team in the league actually deserves to be garbage.
Except for the Lakers.
[–][NYK] Bernard King K1787L12 189 points 17 hours ago
And the Celtics
[–]76ers tfitch2140 131 points 17 hours ago
And whoever James Dolan owns.
[–]Trail Blazers Thatssomegoodshit444 118 points 21 hours ago
With the Knicks it's just funny cause you know they would be as arrogant as Laker fans if they were even remotely competent, but they aren't
[–][NYK] Bernard King K1787L12 36 points 21 hours ago*
I can't speak for other Knicks fans but honestly I think 20 mostly horrifying years have humbled at least some of us. The Lakers have been nonstop spoiled since like 1969
[–]Trail Blazers Thatssomegoodshit444 50 points 21 hours ago
Despite what I just said, anyone who's a Knicks fan as of right now is legit
[–]Celtics randomespanaguy 24 points 16 hours ago
This year is so weird because I don't know if we're the villains or the underdogs since Kemba joined. I'm mildly optimistic though.
[–]saltwateroak 23 points 16 hours ago
The Celtics have a long history of me loving individual players and hating the team. I choose hate.
